Stress makes you fat?
According to research done at Georgetown University stress does make you fat.
A hormone Cortisol gets released in your body when it is under stress and cortisol in creases your blood pressure and heart rate.
Cortisol molecule also release receptors in the fat cells which allow them to multiply and grow bigger than normal.
With this new found knowledge I can now up-size at evil Mac and blame all my weight gain on tough economical times!

I am a paramedic. At least you know what you are dealing with. If your co workers no also that will help. Just stop go into another room. Your break room and breath relax. Your co workers should understand and also know how to treat it. Is there something that sets them off or is it random. Also you know as well as I do that there is meds out there for this problem. Get it under control. Don’t be embarrased, its part of life. Just do the best you can and move on. Good Luck.

My best suggestion is to take the medication that the doctor prescribes. In the meantime, you should balance your diet and cut out all caffeine. Try to become aware of what situations cause you panic attacks and be aware of possible relaxation techniques. Since you describe them as minor, I will assume you mean not occurring within short periods of time and repeatedly. If this is the case, your doctor would probably prescribe some diazepam or lorazepam for those episodes at the beginning but recommend you to get some Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for the long-term.
