Cutting Gluten from an infant diet does not insure that the child will not become a Diabetic Baby later.
The National Institutes of Health says 20 out of a 100 000 kids under the age of 10 are been diagnosed with Type1 and the majority of the kids inherited it through genetic predisposition.
The Diabetes director of the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Dorothy Becker confirmed they have studied 150 children with one family member been a Type One diabetic.
According to their finding
- It eliminates the theory that cutting gluten from an infinite diet will prevent it from developing Type1 diabetes later on. She also said that;
- “It doesn’t mean that it if you did a huge study there wouldn’t be an effect (of gluten)”
- The study was published in the Diabetes Care on line journal dd April 20
The National Institutes of Health is funding an international trial to exploring the matter further. The results should include +- 2000 babies and it are expected to be ready in 2017.
The studies for finding the possible triggers of Type One Diabetes in foods continue.

Ps: There is still no explanation why people develop Type 1 diabetes. Genetic Predisposition and environment exposure are possible triggers.
