About us
Life is just Great
Hi! I’m Pine Pienaar
I just love the Ocean and Must swim in it regularly. Humewood Beach is one of the safes beaches in the world. (Even the Sharks and Bulls come here to relax)
Port Elizabeth in The Eastern Cape must be on everyone’s bucket-list of “Places to See“.
Living in Africa, it is always taken for granted that we are all Hunters!
Well with-out bragging – I must be one of the Best Chocolate Hunter in my part of the country. Although Now-a-days I only Tag-and-Release Candy Bars in the Supermarket isles. I do however have a few interesting tales that I want to share about narrow escapes in the pastry section’s.
About me: Diagnose with type II diabetes in 1996. The years of bad eating habits, long working hours-under stressed and been Hugely out-of-shape finally caught up. Going into denial for months after receiving the news and even the years followed diabetes wasn’t taken seriously. I just could not get myself to scale down the work stress (been self employed can be stressful at times). It is only about 3 years ago that I saw the light and realized that the only person that can take responsibility for my condition is ME.
The key to controlling Diabetes is Knowledge.
Here at Diabetic Signs Symptoms Blog is where I share the information I pick-up on my road to recovery and quest for healthier living.
Turning to the Internet for more information – I instantly fell in love with the Internet, the IT technology and its People. I got to meet super knowledgeable people that did not mind sharing their diabetic experiences and advice. Threw out this blog you will find links to these people and also to great Forums that will get you up to speed quickly.
A lot of times something that is common knowledge to you, might be the key for someone else to controlling their Blood Sugar Levels.
I started moving(walking) and if the ocean permitted I would go for a dip(swim) and 2 years ago I joint Bobby’s Gym. My jeans reduced with about 2 sizes, blood sugar levels are also more stable and controlled.
And I don’t take any Meds anymore!
But my Major Goal; “To loss weight” – is just not happening! This is still pending and I do not have any answer yet…. I am following the 80/20 rule – maybe it is time to also work now on the 20.
One thing I am sure! ”I must be one of the fittest fat person you will ever meet”
It is common knowledge that “Super Models” and Professional Sports Stars all over the world use the Diabetic way of eating to stay healthy and to enhance their performances. By control their Blood Sugar Levels they can get that “Extra” and models get the “Glow”. (Must say that idea about the models helps when I say “No” to my favorite carbohydrates like pasta and bread)
Been a Diabetes call for continuous lifestyle adjustment and there is no “one plan fits all”. However there are some basic things and routines we all prescribe to.
Most Medical officers tend to treat a Diabetic the same as a person with a common cold. “Just take you meds and watch your Blood sugar levels. If your Blood Sugar stays high comeback and we will give more”. The majority of dietitian’s will also give you a pre-printed eating plan. Which is all fine when you just starting out,
But!!
You are going to need more!
Once you get over the shock and disbelieve and “why me” stages, it will be time to do some self examination of your own lifestyle, Eating habits-Drinking habits and Physical habits.
Good Advice
- Do not to Moan your old unhealthy lifestyle – just Embrace your new Health way of Living.
- Remember it is not your doctors or your partner’s responsibility to control your Blood Sugar Levels – it is Yours alone.
Disclosure: I am not a medical professional and all the information on this site is provident on a “as is basis” , we are not on site to control the flow of information to you. We focus on integrating knowledge, technology into a usable product for you.
Some post may contain links, reviews and content that I get paid for. In my quest to gain more information I had laid out Cash for training programs, equipment and Hosting. Been an affiliate for some companies is one way for re-cooperating some of that money but I will never promote, recommend or write about a product that I would not use myself.
